Riding a bus in our new place, Cardiff.

hana | 05:43 | 0 Comments |

Last Sunday, I succeeded influencing my husband to go and buy groceries in one of the infamous hypermarket here in Cardiff. So we try to figure out how to go there. If we were to rent a car that should be a valuable place or we need to plan to go somewhere correctly. If we have to take a taxi which I know that my husband will not agree on that. So the best solution is using a bus, yeah.. plus with the pushchair and our 2 anxious daughters.

Oh man. I need to suit my self then. This is our first attempt to ride a bus to a place here in Cardiff. But since the prices there in ASDA is a good value for money, as we think. So we took that chance to give it a try. I surf the webpage first to get the idea of where to get the bus and also the time of the bus will arrive.

When we reached the bus stop, we noticed that the timing of the bus is different when on Sunday. Huh. Okay. That is the first lesson. Pity to my kids they have to wait around 30 minutes. My fault children. Mama felt sorry. It is cold that morning. While waiting I reasoning my plan to go to buy groceries with my husband. I know he also felt that we have made a mistake to go there. I explained myself, nevermind we try it first if not we never know, after this, I can go by myself and the list go on. He just nodded agreed, I think :)

I remember before we went out, he had suggested me to buy through online, but I come out with so many reasons to go there. Hehe. But I need to praise for the accurate time arrival given in the schedule stuck there :)

After we have done our grocery things. I try to find what the next scheduled time of the bus will arrive at the hypermarket. It is so important since we are bringing our children together if you understand what I meant :) So I found this website where showing the schedule of the bus. Ahahah
If you are a person who is a concern on time, on the go and who need to plan earlier on time to ride a bus go to https://www.cardiffbus.com

Work from Home in Cardiff

hana | 05:17 | 0 Comments |

I have been a full-time housewife here in Cardiff since we go here recently. After working for quite some time, my mind is always full of the thought of what should I do while I was looking after my girls.

I just went through gumtree a website same like mudah.com to find a suitable job while at home. But none of it seems practical or safe. I want to avoid any scam or untrusted thing since I am not in my place. Maybe I can become a babysitter, perhaps not. It is quite scared to think of taking care of other people kids. Perhaps I can become a childminder. It's sound okay to me, but here you need to register somewhere. I am not too sure about that.

Mmm. Maybe I should try this. My friends suggested me to do online business. So I was just looking around the town and some surfing. Thanks to the internet. So I have decided to open a page to sell things from the UK. I just give it a try. It is fun. At least I can just go shopping for them. It like a personal shopper thing.

Do follow me on my facebook page to have more view about shopin_ukwithlove or my Instagram shopin_ukwithlove. Besides the picture that I uploaded in the page, you can also request to find what you want from here. A lot of brand here, e.g., Andrew James, Tefal, Portmeirion, Cosatto, Royal Albert, Dr Martens, Clarks, Cath Kidston, Gap, Pumpkin Kids and many more. I will shop and ship all the way from here in the UK to Malaysia. Do not forget to follow!

We Found our House !

hana | 19:42 | 0 Comments |

It has been so long since the day we arrived here in Cardiff. So I can say that we have found our new home. It is not ours by the way dear. Everybody here has given us a warm welcome and is it freezing right now Autumn to Winter. If you are new or you have no idea on the house to rent in the United Kingdom, you may try rightmove.com or Zoopla or 2let2.com.
As a newcomer, you might want to have a look at the house first before you decide on the house to rent. We choose to let the Malaysian in Cardiff search for us first before we come. Specific house agent over here wanted to have a few months of deposits before for the agreement before you go to the house. If you are lucky like us, we deal directly with the landlord in here. So he only requests for one month deposit in advance.
After some thought of the budget and distance to my hubby school in Uni. Cardiff, we chose Despenser Street. Furthermore, it is opposite the park and the playground. So I can bring my daughters there to have some chill time. We have been introduced to places such as Asda, car boot, the city and lots more. Since it is cold, it is cosy for us to walk to town which will on 10-15 minutes walk.
The cost of living here about the same with our hometown but it is in pound. So please do not always do conversion every time. It is right here as Halal food store is easy to find here and if not you look for any vegetarian label at the product. So far life here is excellent. I guess I would be a master cook as I have to cook every day :) to serve our desired food. But not to worry there are many shops to buy food delivery or take away. Suit yourself then. Okay. Since I am here do like my Facebook page Shopin_ukwithlove or my Instagram shopin_ukwithlove. A lot of brands and of course you can request too to buy any brand from the UK. Alright!

The girls are enjoying their park time.

Fly with etihad. From kuala lumpur to cardiff

hana | 18:45 | 0 Comments |

I think among other flight that we have been used apart from MAS, we can give Etihad a good thumbs up. Now we have finally arrived here in Cardiff. Since we decided to choose a direct flight to Cardiff, we have looked within KLM, EMIRATES and also ETIHAD flight. The best price for four of us is way cheaper with Etihad during the time we bought the ticket. By it is a one-way ticket ..:)
First, before we fly by this airline flight, I felt a bit nervous. Of course with the plane lost story MH370 and also the shoot down MH17 plane. Since the destination is Cardiff, we have to take 3 flights in a row. Kuala Lumpur to Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi to Dublin and Dublin to Cardiff.

Yes, it is indeed tiring. Luckily our daughters can cope with it, and everything is smooth. The service and the sit especially are so ergonomic for a long haul flight. When you want to adjust the sit to sleep it suits with your body is resting position. The food was excellent, and it is a none stop food services.Eat-sleep-toilet.hahahah.
Children are equipped with the activity book. While each sit have its own tv, I guess it goes the same with other airlines.Since we are flying with the kids, they give the privilege for us to get in first. Who says flying with kids is a miserable experience?..;).Although it is a long hour flight-transit activity going on, we can feel relieve interim of the luggage as they will bring everything direct to the last destination.
We felt lucky that Malaysian people there welcome and help us alot..thanks to them.
Before departing from KL with my mak and mama
The beautiful view
Activity books for your little ones.

My daughters are enjoying the journey I guess. Ahaa!

Abu Dhabi airport. A busy airport indeed

The last flight. Its feel like Kimora with her private jet..haha

Cardiff airport

Tired face. Finally, we have arrived.

Find a house in Cardiff

hana | 22:20 | 0 Comments |
Time is running. We have less than 2 weeks before we landed in Wales safely...Please pray for us!! I'm not sure what to feel right now...when you are bringing all the children with the never-ending search for our next home there in Cardiff...Hey, Cardiff why no spare house for us? Just to stay positive. Maybe the best waiting for patient people.

Hopefully. We Cannot do much except none stop browsing from rightmove.com to each recommended agent by Malaysian people there. We just hope that all is well...tap to the shoulder.

Now we are in the middle of double packing. Packing for the new place and packing for the people to rent our house...Sometimes I just mumbling to myself. Why o why so many unwanted things discover when you are spring-cleaning the house...A gentle ADVISED...please do your spring cleaning quarterly...

Previously we are thinking of various criteria for the hunting house. But now we just need one!! Luckily there is somebody over there is helpful if we need some favour. Maybe in term of viewing the property and so on.
At the moment we are thinking of staying at least 3 nights in a hotel there. Still, to find an affordable plus family hotel is very hard and not so many there. So before you do confirmation on your hotel or place your reservation, you need to email or call the hotel to ensure the number and kids allowance there. Unless you want to go for a quite pricey hotel no need to worry about the hotel policy and so on.

I try searching the hotel using this website  http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/united-kingdom/index.shtml.
Another suggestion page that you can also view is http://www.agoda.com/,http://www.booking.com/ and some other webpage too. After looking all of the hotels with an affordable rate plus accept 2 children in one room,  Hotel ibis budget Cardiff Centre, at Tyndall Street, Cardiff CF10 4BE, United Kingdom had replied my email and receive our reservation and the cost for two night is 80GBP.Not bad we think. This is an adjustable rate given where any cancellation can be made by 2.00 pm local time on the arriving date. So  ..#prayforusfindahouse...Just for now find hard and try hard.:)Here is sone suggestion if you want to surf by internet
you want to see a nice house go to http://m.allenandharris.co.uk/

Here in Rightmove, it will cover more house agent http://www.rightmove.co.uk/

Our UK visa approved

hana | 20:04 | 0 Comments |
Last week we received our Visa to the UK. Alhamdulillah. This is the first step for us to go to Wales, United Kingdom. It took approximately 2 weeks to get your Visa Approved. My husband and I will be bringing our 2  precious daughters there. Just want to share what we have to do to apply for a visa since my husband only obtained the funding for his study from MARA. So for the rest of us has to attach some documentation to make it a smooth process.

The documents that they would like to have after we have applied it through online and have selected the date appointment.

1. Tuberculosis test-Since our country is on the list of the country that needs to do the tests we need to do the test then. There are 2 test centre in West Malaysia at this moment which is at;

Janice Lim - Health Screening Centre
Gleneagles Hospital (Kuala Lumpur)
282 and 286 Jalan Ampang,
50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Tel: 603-4141 3282, fax: 603-4141 3280,
Email: janicelim@gleneagleskl.com.my

Dr Ong Kee Liang - Life Care Diagnostic Medical Centre,
1st Floor, Wisma Life Care,
No. 5, Jalan Kerinchi,
Bangsar South, 59200
Kuala Lumpur
Tel: 1300 222 369 or
Email: info@lifecare.com.my

This time we need to bring the children to do some basic checkup. It just a session with Dr to ask some history of the children health. Bare in mind they also charge children per person around RM 175. For an adult the cost around RM 210 per person. We do the test in at Wisma Life Care as it also opens on Saturday. An advice to you, please do it before the peak season time where all the undergraduate and also postgraduate will be going to do the process, especially in August till September. You need to bring your passport picture, your passport/IC and even money for the test.:}

2. Applicant Passport Picture-Please see the guideline for UK passport picture size guideline
.
3. Marriage certificate-You can do this at Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (ITBM) or any court that have a translator. I do ask at Duta court, and the process will take only 1 hour while in Institute Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia will take around 3 working days. You can request Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (ITBM) personnel to courier to you the translated certified true copy documents right to your front door. How easy is that?

4. Birth certificate-Translate your birth certificate if your certificate is in other than the English language.I do it at the same place as a marriage certificate. But as for new/current birth certificate has already had a dual language we just used the original document for the application.

5. Bank statement-If you have some fund/saving you need to get the letter/passbook to be certified or issued by the said bank. As for us, we use ASB and Bank Passbook. There is a calculation to dictate how much money do we need to have if we go there and bring together your dependent. Huh...and yet the money needs to be in the Bank within 28 days. This document is for your dependent application.

6-Financial Statement/Letter from Funder-This letter need to be submitted if you apply under /sponsored student application. Sometimes if you are lucky by using this statement, your application can be approved by just utilising this letter without any Bank Statement. But I advise you to provide the bank statement if you bring more than 1 children.

6. Consent Letter- For example, if the main applicant will support the other dependent, he needs to provide a simple letter stated that he will support the name of the applicant and sign the letter.

7.CAS letter- If you go for study in the UK, they will provide you with the CAS letter. So this document needs to be submitted at the Visa application centre.

7. Passport-Bring all the mentioned passport from the first one until current passport. This is provided if you have to clarify all the passport that you have in hand.

Actually, you can apply online first while also preparing all the document in hand. The webpage https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/.

Now I can focus on other things such as to list all the items need to be brought there. Fuhhh...it going to be fun!!...or otherwise. Any advice from your friend?
