Do i need travel insurance

Our connecting flight has left us. While we were running like crazy to catch it...

its like end to end.

I am seriously thinking do we have to go through this long route including pass through the customs counter for the next connecting flight where you have only like 10 minutes in between your landing and the boarding time for the next trip?

 we choose KLM to fly us from KL to Oslo to go to Iceland by Icelandair..why we choose this offer ? of course because it is cheaper  at the time bought the ticket

It was my first-time experience with KLM.

we thought that the route and the connecting flight departing time that we have bought should be no problem since it was suggested on the web by KLM.

the real landing time in Amsterdam is at  6 am...and the next flight boarding time is 6.20a.m....double woww...

We thought since they already suggest the departure time..so The next flight may be just a few gates nearby...

Gila!!!! you expect your customer to run n catch the next connecting flight where you located the flight on the other side of the world...

I still imagine that massive situation..

My other friend Norma and I went ahead running ..we thought that maybe we could stop the flight while waiting for the other two friends to arrive.....but naa

sorry, you may go to the service counter to rebooked the next flight.said the flight customer service right in front of no breath face of me and Norma...selamba je

We have another flight to catch at noon.......sempat ke weii

said me while catching our breath since we have marathon the airport



ok here is the thing

the original plan was we will arrive in Oslo at 8.30am but that if only we depart with the initial flight time that has left us just now...

the ground crew doesn't seem too interested with our next plan...geram ....cepuk Kang...

ok, the next rebooked flight is at 9.30 am..and guess what I am the last person got it...

oh, madam, u are lucky that was the last seat for 9.30 am flight to Oslo....
kalau tak lucky tak tahu la ...


apala nasib mamat yg tadi yg miss flight jugak sama time with us all...


can we make it by noon since we have another flight to Iceland and...not finishing my sentence

yeah sure, you can make it...said the ground crew a men

but we won't be able to wait for the luggage...

no no..the Oslo airport is smaller than here....the men  replied and what he meant is Oslo airport is smaller than Schipol airport

but that's not the issue hello??

so why on earth you KLM guys plan the connecting flight in within 10 minutes and expecting us to catch in this humungous airport...

so who is going to pay if we miss our next flight..and we can't get the luggage before next boarding time


silence..loonggg pause nooo answer...


maybe you can ask Icelandair to pick up the luggage and bring with you to Iceland when you arrive in Olso...

we bought the ticket, not in one receipt and how do you expect the Icelandair want to do it?that must be come from you KLM...

And do you expect that to happen? my friend replied to the men at the counter

I think you are the one who should give the order to your crew in Oslo to sent the luggage to board with Icelandair.....i continued.

since we are not booking it together in one ticket, u think Icelandair will bother that if you don't tell them?

wah senang2 je nak alih tanggungjawab...

Are you expecting us to miss this next flight and rebook another ticket to Iceland just because wait for the luggage to arrive? Ask my friend again to the man...

maybe for them, it is not a big issue..they are facing it everyday..but hello we are not always facing this everyday ok...

after back and forth to the KLM crew counter..we asked them to be responsible and ask them to make an instruction to their crew in Oslo to transmit the luggage to Icelandair since our flight already delayed and we won't be able to wait for the bags to check in together to Iceland...

takkan nak beli the Iceland ticket just because to wait for the luggage kut...

ok, we can do that, but we can't guarantee the luggage will be with you.

ok ni penting....if you all terlepas ke terdelay ke...kena cepat2 bertindak...nak claim ke nak instruct ke...dan dan tu jugak..if not tak dapat you all claim...


don't worry you will be able to catch the other flight to Iceland..mamat ni la...

they keep quiet behind the counter..not a single word of suggestion

but the thing is this KLM company not handling this issue seriously...maybe they think this is not a big problem so why bother...at least bg la hati we all ni lega skit.

Or at least say something like...

don't worry we can take care of your luggage since it is our mistake or travel at ease we take care of the problem....whatever la...

ni dek jee...

So if this happens to you guys..please be proactive..don't just keep quiet ...redo tu penting..but what is next action... it's up to you

we know maybe because they expect the customer has their travel insurance to cover this

but hey..even you got the insurance what so ever.. you need to be responsible too what..?gilee


this is the first time we able to claim travel insurance

for flight delay and luggage delay

and apparently, now we know that  you can claim for flight delay if the delay start from 6 hours only  ..this applies to a policy with Axa and Chubb insurance.

But for myself, I took Etiqa travel insurance. They covered for the flight delay for more than 2 hrs.

So I able to claim for flight delay but my friend can't claim since their insurance can only be claimed if the flight delay more than 6 hours.

nasib la ambil travel insurance.....

if you doubt to take or not to take the travel insurance...

Please take it

based on our experience..we reckon you to take..or if you are not sure you can google on something like this whenthiswhen-you-can-skip-travel-insurance-and-when-you-should-buy

you can take the lowest or the highest coverage base on your preference...

If nothing happens its good for you and if something happens good for you also..


so ada hikmah juga this happen

at least my money spent on this trip has been covered back with the claim...

but you need to ensure all the document are there

the original tickets
the rebooked ticket
the airline letter or email reason on flight delay
the customs clearance note or letter from the airline on the information about the luggage delayed

if you extra rajin keep on reading your policy before buying...

the funny and geram part is..when we arrived in Oslo..our luggage not in the collection area yet..it has been a delay...


so can you imagine if we wait for the luggage and miss the Icelandair flight...double trouble..and you can't claim if you decide to wait to get your bags and go through the check-in process...and miss your next flight...

when I emailed to KLM to claim the delayed luggage

they refuse to do so as they said Iceland air is the last fright that we took...dia bagi la policy airline bla...bla.....

so they said Icelandair is responsible..but when I emailed to Icelandair they response and explained on the event happened whereby when we arrived in Oslo to depart to Iceland.our luggage doesn't come together when we boarding with KLM from Amsterdam and our luggage arrived in the Iceland airport in the middle of the night where clearly the baggage does not depart to along with us from Amsterdam to Oslo...

ye the KLM said its Icelandair responsible...dude?

lagi tak mengaku pulak dia delaykan luggage...

bayangkan if we wait at the bag belt and miss our next flight and the truth are our bags has been delayed.



pang jugak KLM ni...




come to think about it...ada juga hikmah nya...dpt claim insurance..

boleh menampung budget pergi Scandi and we able to experience on how to handle the situation with the crew and how to claim insurance...
